According to United States Postal Inspector Kevin Towers, "If you have to send money to claim your prize; odds are it’s a scam". Unfortunately, thousands of people lose their life savings every year to this estimated trillion dollar industry.
Inspector Towers will share tips on how to identify and avoid mail fraud schemes including deceptive mailings, sweepstakes, lotteries, on-line auctions and work-at-home offers, at the Frederick Senior Center on Wednesday, June 26, 2013 at 12.30pm. In addition, he will discuss what to do if you think you, or someone you know, may be a victim of this criminal activity.
This program is free and open to the public. The Frederick Senior Center is located at 1440 Taney Avenue, Frederick, MD, with ample parking available.
The FriendShip Café is open for those who would like to purchase lunch prior to the program.
