Police arrested a Pikesville man Thursday in Carroll County after they found two unregistered handguns in his vehicle.
Jorge Reyes, 38, of the 800 block of Milford Mill Road, is charged with two counts of carrying a handgun in a vehicle.
He was released Thursday from the Carroll County Detention Center on $5,000 bail, according to electronic court files.
Police pulled over Reyes on Md. 140 and Bethel Road for a window tint violation, according to charging documents.
A probable cause search was done based on confidential information, according to police, and two semi-automatic handguns were found in a plastic bag hidden under a seat. The firearms were not stolen, but were also not registered, according to charging documents.
Reyes denied ownership of the guns and said he did not know who they belonged to, but claimed he owned the vehicle, according to charging documents.
He is due back in court Aug. 21, according to electronic court files.
