The National Weather Service has issued a flash flood watch for the region, including Frederick and Carroll Counties in Maryland, and Loudon County, Virginia. until 2:00 AM July 2nd.
The agency says there could be periods of showers and thunderstorm through tonight, with some heavy rainfall. Two to three inches are possible throughout the watch area. Some isolated areas could see four inches of precipitation. That could result in flash flooding, that could cause creeks to rise and roads to become impassible.
The Weather Service says a watch means conditions are favorable for flash flooding. Please monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action, if necessary.
