Nevertheless, it was a busy day.
It was a busy day for the Frederick County Grand Jury on Friday. "It was their last day for the February term, and they were instructed to complete final reports on comments regarding the States Attorney's Office and their visit to the Frederick County Adult Detention Center," said Charlie Smith, FCSA. "They also returned numerous indictments on cases that were under seal. But they did have a couple of cases that were not under seal. We filed more charges against David Joshua Nash. 1976 is his birthdate. He is from Middletown, Md. We added more first degree burglary charges. I guess he went on a burglary spree there. He was just indicted several weeks, ago," said Smith.
Also indicted was Darnell Maurice Mason, of Frederick. "His date of birth is 1985. He was indicted on felony narcotic charges and also distribution of CDS with a firearm. That's a serious offense that he could face the mandatory time for," continued Smith.
A new grand jury will be seated at the opening term of court in September. "They will serve until February, 2014," added Smith.
