Celebrate Frederick, Inc. is currently accepting applications for those interested in serving on its board of directors.
Celebrate Frederick produces 13 annual events in the City of Frederick each year, with signature events including Frederick’s 4th - An Independence Day Celebration, Summer Concert Series in Baker Park, and In The Street. The board of directors provides direction, management, strategic planning and leadership to the organization and its event committees.
Current openings on the board are to fill director positions and all officer positions. New members will be elected in November 2013 and installed in January 2014. Each director holds office for a term of two years and must be available to attend 10 board meetings each year, participate in event planning and attend events. Board meetings occur on the first Monday of the month (except July and December), begin at 5:45 p.m. and last approximately one hour.
The current board is looking for individuals with experience in the legal field, fundraising, governance and event planning, in addition to candidates who may be interested in Executive Committee roles for 2014 or in the future. To be considered, please submit a one-page biography showcasing your professional experience, special skills and why you would like to serve on the board.
