Visitors will be required to sign in & receive a visitors' badge.
Some new security procedures have been put in place at Winchester Hall.
Visitors to the building must present a photo identification, but no one will be denied access if they can't produce a picture ID. There will be a sign posted on the front door to remind visitors of this new policy.
All people coming into Winchester Hall will have to sign in at the security desk, and indicate the agency or person they are visiting. They will receive a visitor's badge, with a floor designation. The front elevator near the security desk is for visitors to use. The east elevator is for county employees only, but visitors can use to it if they are accompanied by a county employee.
Citizens coming to Winchester Hall to testify at public hearings in the first or third floor hearing rooms do not need to sign in.
County employees will be required to display their identification tag while at work, with some exceptions. Any employee who does not display his or her badge will be asked by security staff to produce it. If they can't, they will be asked for other identification, sign in, or be given a visitor's badge.
County officials say these new security procedures are expected to enhance safety for visitors and employees.
