A Middletown man who led Maryland State Police on a high speed chase, along U.S. 340, on September 6, 2013, was indicted by a Frederick County Grand Jury Friday. "Doc Edgar Workman is facing numerous offenses, including second degree assault on a law enforcement officer," said Charles Smith, States Attorney. "He rammed the troopers marked patrol car multiple times before it crashed," continued Smith.
The pursuit continued until Workman crossed the West Virginia line and officers lost sight of him. "They actually found the Jeep that he was driving in Jefferson County, near where his mother lived, so the Sheriff's Office over there was very helpful in the investigation," said Smith.
Also indicted was Jacob Reid and Chad Dewees, both of Thurmont, for drug offenses and Matthew Cain, of Boyds, for attempted robbery and second degree assault.
