The Frederick County Sheriff's is investigating the death of a New Market man.

Deputies responded to the 5,000 block of Worchester Court in New Market yesterday at 2:35 p.m. after it was reported that a man was pinned underneath his vehicle.

A preliminary investigation shows the man was lying underneath his Ford Explorer, working on it, when for unknown reasons it began to roll. The vehicle rolled on top of the man, causing him to be pinned. A family member called 911 for help.

The 49-year-old-man was taken to Frederick Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

A press release from the Frederick County's Sheriff's Office reports the investigation is ongoing to determine the factors that caused the vehicle to roll.
