Demand the rich to pay their fair share of taxes.

Frederick's MoveOn.org members will stand in protest Tuesday afternoon, in front of Merrill Lynch, on West Patrick Street, demanding that corporations and the richest pay their fair share of taxes. " They're demanding that the beig corporations and the ultra wealthy pay the same tax rates as the working class people do," said Jeannette Bartelt, spokeswoman.

The event is part of a national day of action called 'tax the 1% which includes more than 100 of grassroots actions across the country. "Like Merrill Lynch paid nothing in taxes, like, how could that be, and that made millions and millions in profits," continued Bartelt.

The event will seek to change a system in which Warren Buffett pays a lower tax rate than his secretary, Mitt Romney pays only a 14 percent tax rate and Wall Street and Big Oil get billions in tax kick backs.

The rally will be held at 12:00 noon.
