A program administered by Frederick Community College has been honored by the Maryland State Department of Education. The Medical Assistant program has received the Outstanding Career and Technology Education award.

FCC joined other community colleges and public school systems in the state in receiving the 2012 Awards of Excellence in a ceremony in Baltimore on Tuesday afternoon.

"These exceptional award recipients represent their dedication to high standards from academic and technical achievement to business and community involvement," says Dr. Bernard Sandusky, Interim State Superintendent of Schools, in a statement. "They are a testament to Maryland's nationally recognized system of career and technology education."
