The crash closed WB I-70 for several hours Monday.
State Police have charged a truck driver following a tractor trailer crash Monday afternoon on Interstate 70 near Hollow Road. Jessica Colegrove, 34, of Schertz, Texas is charged with driving at a speed greater than reasonable for road and weather conditions, and negligent driving.
Troopers say the rig she was driving was traveling too close to a vehicle in front of it, and turned sharply to the right along westbound I-70 to avoid striking it. The operator drove the semi to the right shoulder. It overturned as she was trying to get back on to the roadway, blocking the highway.
The truck was loaded with 44,000 pounds of chlorine bleach, but there was no hazardous materials spill.
I-70 westbound in that area was closed for several hours, and traffic was detoured on to Route 40 as crews unloaded the cargo and the tractor trailer was uprighted.
Colegrove was not injured in this crash.
