Frederick Police have charged a Walkersville man with drug and weapons offenses following a traffic stop Monday evening. Christopher P. Nolan, 25, was taken into custody, charged with possession with intent to distribute marijuana, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a firearm during a drug trafficking crime, transporting a firearm after being convicted of a felony and transporting a firearm while engaged in a drug trafficking crime.
Authorities way Nolan was pulled over along Monocacy Boulevard at Riverbend Way for failing to stop at a red light at the intersection of 5th Street and North East Street.
A police canine called to the scene indicated the presence of drugs in the vehicle. Officers say they searched Nolan's car, and found a handgun, about 146 grams of marijuana and a scale. They also located $170 in cash on Nolan's person. The money was seized for forfeiture.
