The 4th Annual OFC Richard "Mark" Bremer Memorial Ride/Poker Run is taking place on Saturday August 4th.
The event is in honor of OFC. Richard "Mark" Bremer who was tragically killed during a vehicle pursuit in October of 2008. The Warthogs Motorcycle Club and the Francis Scott Key Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #91 set up this memorial fund for his wife and three children who he left behind. The proceeds will benefit his children's education.
"This is the fourth year that we've done the ride. It's a poker run, it's a ride where you make five stops and at each of those stops you draw a playing card and after those five stops, the best poker hand wins the pot that day," Ron Figgins, the Presidents of the Warthogs Motorcycle Club in Frederick said.
Registration is from 10 a.m. to noon. The first riders go out at 11:30 a.m. and the last riders are out at 12:30 p.m. The cost is $25 per rider or passenger for the poker hand. Cost for non-playing passengers is $10. Ride registration and staging will begin at the Harley Davidson of Frederick at 5722 Urbana Pike, Frederick and the final stop will be at the Blue Sky Bar and Grill in New Market.
The event is also looking for sponsorship from local businesses to help raise money for the ride. Any donations of any amount are welcome as well as any donations for door prizes. Any questions, contact Ron Figgins at 301-748-2938
