The wreck closed the highway for about an hour.

Interstate 70 near Cedar Ridge Road west of Hagerstown was closed for an hour Monday morning following a one-vehicle crash.

State Police in Washington County were dispatched to the scene shortly after 9:00 AM. They say a Chevy S-10 pickup operated by Jeffrie Bernard Jones, 58, of Hagerstown was traveling eastbound when the driver lost control. The pickup began to swerve and overturned in the median.

Jones was trapped inside the vehicle and had to be extricated by fire and rescue personnel.

He was taken by State Police helicopter to Meritus Medical Center in critical condition. Jones was the only occupant of the Chevy S-10.
