Meeting scheduled next month with school board members.

The debate over the third grade text book called Social Studies Alive, Our Community And Beyond, is continuing. A committee from the Frederick County School Board will be meeting with a group of parents next month, who want the book removed from the school system. "The committee decided, that while they feel the book could be improved, that it's not the best book for 3rd grade, it's not worth, at this time, pulling it from the classroom, due to costs with budget constraints. That decision is being appealed," said Karen Yoho, Frederick County teacher. "Some parents feel that the book has a left leaning agenda."

Yoho helped to select the controversial textbook ten years ago.
