BB&T employees will be sprucing up the park.
BB&T employees will be sprucing up Hill Street Park in Frederick on Wednesday. The company says for the third consecutive year, associates went into their communities as part of the BB&T Lighthouse project, which is a community wide service effort.
As part of the project, company employees will be spreading about 100 yards of mulch on the playground, and paint picnic tables and bathroom doors.
"The Lighthouse project is an excellent opportunity for our team to increase a long standing tradition of giving back. Our associates are excited about these opportunities to make a difference in Frederick County. Rolling up our sleeves has been part of our culture for 140 years," says Robert Tuggle, Frederick County Area Executive, BB&T Corporation, in a statement.
"BB&T's service project at Hill Street Park is just another fine example of what makes Frederick such a great community to live in," said Roelky Myers, Frederick City Deputy Director of Parks and Recreation, in a statement.
As a result of all of this work, Hill Street Park will be closed on Wednesday.
