Two other residents will be charged.

A 29 year old Myersville man was arrested on a warrant for possession of a handgun after being charged with a felony.

Since July, detectives with the Frederick County Bureau of Investigation have been looking into numerous thefts of batteries from large vehicles and equipment on job sites in the northern part of Frederick County.  They identified 3 possible suspects, one of which was Dale Mitchell, who lives on Stottlemyer Road.

On Tuesday, after a search warrant was executed for his residence, investigators confiscated numerous stolen batteries and a handgun.  The next day, they returned to his home and arrested him.  Additional charges related to the thefts are pending against the two other residents, whose identities will not be released until they are charged, police said.
