The pair allegedly stole jewelry from a home in Eldersburg.
The Carroll County Sheriff's Office is crediting a citizen who alerted authorities following a residential burglary in Eldersburg Thursday morning. That enabled deputies to take two suspects into custody.
Joseph Hendricks, 21, of Woodbine, and Danielle Triplett, 18, of Sykesville, were apprehended in Baltimore County following a traffic stop along Liberty Road in Randallstown.
The two are charged with burglary, theft and conspiracy. Police also recovered more than $1,000 in jewelry taken from a home on Macbeth Way in Eldersburg.
The Sheriff's Office says Hendricks is wanted on two outstanding warrants for unrelated charges.
According to authorities, the citizen noticed one of the suspects, later identified as Triplett, walking the perimeter of a neighbor's home before moving to the second house, where she entered an unlocked door. Coming out of the home, the Sheriff's Office says Triplett got into a gray car driven by Hendricks.
A lookout was broadcast, and a police officer in Baltimore County who heard the broadcast, recognized the vehicle and pulled it over for a minor traffic violation.
The investigation into this incident is continuing, and anyone with additional information is asked to call Detective Corporal Brian Dayton at 410-386-2572. Citizens can also call the TIPS Hotline at 1-888-399-8477. They do not have to give their names.
