The Challenge is an official event of the Symetra Tour-Road to the LPGA.

This summer Myersville will play host to the brightest female golfers in the country during the 'Challenge at Musket Ridge'.

The golf tournament is slated for August 20-26th. LPGA Marketing and Sales Director Chris Osche said the Challenge is an official event of the Symetra Tour-Road to the LPGA.

"This will be the 32nd that the LPGA-Symetra Tour will be developing these players for a successful career on the LPGA Tour. We truly are the pipeline for talent for the LPGA and for the past decade have been creating the stars of tomorrow," Osche said.

The tournament is being underwritten by the LPGA and will offer $110,000 in prize money.

Osche said the top 10 money winners each year in the Futures automatically advance to the LPGA.

On Wednesday the Frederick County Commissioners said they are endorsing the Challenge at Musket Ridge saying the event will bring in money to local businesses during tough economic times.
