The driver suffered a medical emergency.
Early Monday morning, Frederick Police and Fire and Rescue personnel were called out to a home on South Jefferson Street, after a car crashed into it.
Authorities said it happened after the driver of the vehicle suffered a medical emergency. He was taken to Frederick Memorial Hospital and later to Shock Trauma in Baltimore. The extent of the driver's injuries are not known at this time. A person inside of the home, at the time of the accident, was not injured, but clearly shaken up, authorities said. Building Inspectors declared the home, at 32 South Jefferson Street, unsafe to reside in, so the American Red Cross has stepped in to assist family members.
