Gas House Pike was shut down for three hours while the accident scene was being investigated.
A serious accident closed down a busy road Sunday in Frederick City.
According to a press release from Frederick Police, at 7:08 p.m. emergency responders were sent to the 8000 block of Gas House Pike for an accident.
Police say a man, in his early 20's, was driving a compact car when he ran into a parked 18-wheeler. Initially the man was trapped in his vehicle and had to be extricated. He was then flown to Shock Trauma in Baltimore for treatment.
