Juvenile Arrested For Vehicle Theft

The youth was apprehended after trying to elude a cop.

 

A 17-year-old male has been charged as a juvenile with motor vehicle theft. The youth was apprehended on Wednesday afternoon after trying to elude a Frederick Police officer.

Authorities say the cop on patrol noticed the vehicle commit a traffic violation along Madison Street near South Market Street, and attempted to pull it over. The driver failed to stop, and the officer activated her emergency equipment.

The vehicle being pursued traveled down South Market Street, heading out to Buckeystown Pike. The motorist pulled over along Guilford Drive near the WalMart, where he was taken into custody.

Police say the vehicle had been reported stolen on Monday, March 12th.

The teenager is charged through the Department of Juvenile Services with theft of a motor vehicle, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, driving without a license, fleeing and eluding and failing to stop at a steady circular red signal.
