One driver was issued a citation.

Two people were taken to area hospitals following a two-vehicle crash near Hancock Thursday morning.

The Washington County Sheriff's Department says a vehicle operated by Elwood Liggett, 56, of Warfordsburg, Pennsylvania had come up a hill in the area of 13240 Round Top Road near Hancock, when it crossed the double yellow lines, and hit a vehicle driven by Robert Munday, 42, of Hancock.  It was a head-on collision, and the impact caused Munday's car to go over  Liggett's vehicle. The driver's side tire snapped off of Liggett's car.

Authorities say both vehicles were "completely destroyed."

Deputies issued a citation to Liggett for failure to drive right of center.

The Sheriff's Office says one of the drivers was medivaced to the hospital by the State Police helicopter, and the other was taken by the Hancock Fire Department's ambulance.

Due to the severity of the injuries sustained in the collision, the Washington County Sheriff's Department Accident Reconstruction Team responded to the scene to conduct an investigation.
