Arrest Made In Strong Arm Robbery Along Carroll Creek

It's the third arrest in this case.

 

A third suspect has been charged in connection with a strong arm robbery along Carroll Creek on March 25th. George Allen Snowden Jr., 19, was apprehended on Friday. He's been charged with robbery, second-degree assault, theft less than $100 and conspiracy to commit all three criminal offenses.

Frederick Police say two juveniles have also been charged in connection with the incident.

Authorities say a woman walking along Carroll Creek between West South Street and South Market Street early in the morning was approached by a group of African-American males. One blocked her path with a bicycle and grabbed her purse. S he lost her balance and fell.  The victim told officers she was pushed and kicked while on the ground.


A witness who saw the assault came to the victim's aid. She suffered minor contusions and cuts.

Police say the case is still open, and investigators are following up on additional leads in reference to possibly some other suspects in this assault.
