Driver arrested for DUI.
Frederick Police arrested a local man after his car crashed into a home early Saturday morning. Devante Dayon Williams of Frederick was apprehended shortly after the incident in the 400 block of Carrollton Drive, and charged with driving under the influence, driving while intoxicated, DUI Per Se, failing to remain at the scene of a property damage accident, driving without a license and other offenses.
Officers say Williams fled the scene after the crash, but was located a short distance away. They also say Williams did not pass standard field sobriety tests at the scene.
Neither the passengers in the vehicle nor the residents were injured as a result of this crash.
Police say the residents were allowed back inside their homes after a building inspector conducted an investigation and determined the residences were safe. In addition, the Red Cross arrived and made accommodations for the residents.
