State Police in Hagerstown say a Smithsburg man,  who was struck by a pickup truck in the parking lot of the Food Lion on Jefferson Boulevard in Smithsburg on Sunday, has died. George Bargmann, 58, passed away on Tuesday at Meritus Medical Center in Hagerstown, where he was taken after the incident in critical condition.

Troopers say the investigation into this case is continuing, and no charges have been filed as of yet.

The driver of the striking vehicle is identified as Terry Alan Nalley of Smithsburg, who was operating a Ford pickup.
