Search warrants were served in Jefferson County, WV on Thursday morning in connection with last week's murder in Ranson. The four sealed warrants were executed by Ranson Police, the Jefferson County Sheriff's Department, and Charles Town, Harpers Ferry and Shephardstown Police.

Ranson Police Chief William Roper says four people were arrested, but not for the murder of Dontrell Curry, 27, of Ranson. Melissa Lindamood, 32, was apprehended on an outstanding warrant for assault. William J. Holmes, 27, was arrested for failing to appear in court for a charge of fleeing from an officer. Amber Kaye Williams, 25, was apprehended for possession of marijuana and cocaine.     Xavier Juan Roberts, 23, of Martinsburg, WV, was apprehended and charged with the armed robbery of the 7-11 store, brandishing a deadly weapon and petit larceny.   Neither individual was charged with Curry's murder.

Curry, of Ranson, was found deceased with a gunshot wound to the head on Wednesday morning, April 25th in a rear bedroom of a unit in the Apple Tree Gardens Apartments with a gunshot wound to the head. Rachel Cook, 26, who lived in the unit, was taken to Jefferson Memorial Hospital with a gunshot wound to the arm.

Chief Roper says the warrants were also obtained for the April 23rd armed robbery of a 7-11 store, and some drug activity. He was asked if the holdup was related to the Curry's murder. "We are still working on that with the information that we have received, and also with some of the evidence that we received during the execution of the search warrants to help further in the investigation of those also," he says.

The Chief says during the execution of the search warrants, officers found some drug paraphernalia, and quantities of marijuana and cocaine.
