A traffic citation was issued to a Hagerstown woman for failing to obey the designated lane direction after her vehicle struck a pedestrian.
Police say Katherine Ann Flaherty, 62, was blinded by the sunlight on Friday evening while driving in the 12800 Little Elliot Drive. Her vehicle struck Kristopher Tolan Hovis, 22, of Hagerstown, who was walking in a grassy area just off the roadway.
He was taken to Meritus Medical Center, where it was determined that he had a broken leg and broken wrist, and was evaluated for a head injury.
In Walkersville Friday afternoon, a man was medivaced after he was struck by motor vehicle while riding his bicycle. The incident occurred along East Frederick Street near the Pizza Hut.
