A Washington County School bus had to slam on its brakes Monday around 4:30 p.m. to avoid hitting a car that ran a red light at Locust and Broadway in Hagerstown.
The bus did not hit the car but 14 of 24 kids were slightly injured from flying out of their seats. Nine of them were taken to Meritus Medical Center and were expected to be treated and released.
The driver of the car who did not stop for the red light remains unknown and the investigation is continuing.
