One vehicle catches on fire.

A head on collision on Route 340 sent a Pennsylvania man and his son to Frederick Memorial Hospital Friday night.

Troopers from the Frederick Barrack responded to the accident, just west of Route 180. Authorities said Gennarino Nascari, from Phoenixville, entered the westbound lane of Route 340, from 180. He realized that he was headed the wrong direction and thought that the road was a two way road. He made a u-turn and headed east in the west boundlane and that's when he struck a Subaru, driven by Orinsi Wright, from Germantown, Md., head-on. The collision caused the Subaru's engine compartment to catch on fire. Nascari and his juvenile son were transported to FMH with non-life threatening injuries. Wright was flown to Shock Trauma in Baltimore.
