She was grabbed while walking home from school on Friday.

Hagerstown Police continue to investigate an attempted abduction last Friday afternoon.

A 14-year-old girl was walking home from school in the 400 block of West Franklin Street when a green SUV pulled up to the curb. The driver asked the teenager if she wanted a ride. After she said no, the driver reached through the passenger side window, and grabbed the victim by her arm. She managed to break free, and got to a safe place.

The suspect is described as a white male, between 40 and 50 years of age with short gray hair and a thick build. The SUV was medium green in color, and could be a Subaru. The passenger side window had a plastic rain guard.

"We want the public to know that we're are on their side," said Hagerstown Police Detective Shane Blankenship, in a statement. "This is a terrible thing for a young person to experience, and we're going to do as much as we can to solve this case."

Anyone who has information on this incident is asked to call Detective Blankenship at 301-790-3700, extension 234.
