A Frederick man has been charged with destruction of property. Michael Joseph Weigle, 23, was arrested Tuesday  night at 1101 West Key Parkway, Apt. 204.

Officers were called to the scene to investigate reports of an intoxicated man who was destroying property. Police say Weigle damaged a wall within the unit, and residents had to hide in a locked bathroom because the suspect refused to leave. He tried to flee when officers arrived, but was taken into custody.

At first, he refused to identify himself, but police were able to confirm his identity.

Weigle was taken to Central Booking for processing. It there that authorities learned Weigle was wanted on two warrants with the Sheriff's Offices.   A deputy responded to the scene to serve the arrest warrants.
