He was named Volunteer of the Year.

Congratulations go out to Tom Frezza, who was named Volunteer of the Year during the Journey Through Hallowed Ground Partnership’s 6th annual conference in Frederick last month. Frezza is a staff member with the National Museum of Civil War Medicine.

He was instrumental in the  Partnership's "Of the Student, By the Student and For the Student" projects in Manassas, Virginia, Antietam National Battlefield and the C&O Canal National Historical Park. That’s where students shot and edited their own videos about the Civil War conflicts fought at those sites. Frezza had knowledge of the New York’s Zouve’s regiment, and provided the students with period uniforms.

Frezza currently works as Superintendent of the Pry House Hospital Museum in Washington County.

The Journey Through Hallowed Ground Partnership helps raise awareness of the history within the region, mostly along the Rt. 15 corridor through Virginia, Maryland and Pennsylvania.  It worked to create the Journey Through Hallowed Ground National Scenic Byway along Rt. 15.
