Local residents are encouraged to vote on Wednesday, June 13th for PAL.
Local residents are being asked to support the Frederick Police Activities League (PAL) and their quest for a new Toyota Sienna Minivan. “We’ve been selected as a finalist in Toyota’s 100 Cars For Good Program. All you have to do is on Wednesday, June 13th, go to www.100carsforgood.com and it will take you to a facebook page so you can vote for the Police Activities League,” said Michele Bowman, Community Outreach Specialist.
The automaker is giving 100 vehicles to 100 nonprofits over the course of 100 days. Frederick PAL was selected as a finalist from more than 4,000 applications, nationwide. “We chose a van, so if we win, it will be used to transport youth to PAL programs and on field trips,” continued Bowman.
The Police Activities League of Frederick (PAL) began in August 1999, and is a recreation-oriented juvenile crime prevention program that relies heavily upon athletics and recreational activities to create and cement the bond between police officers and the youth on the street.
