Maryland State Police have identified the man who was killed after being struck by a vehicle on Tuesday night.

According to a press release, Dennis Michael Danko, 49, was hit by a Volkswagen Jetta as he was walking along Rt. 26 by Kingfisher Dr. in Frederick.

Danko was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency responders.

The investigation into the accident is continuing by police.
