Maryland State Police is currently on the scene of a serious personal injury accident at I-70, eastbound, just west off route 66.  Officials said it happened atout 2:30 p.m.

The one vehicle accident involving an SUV had 6 occupants inside, authorities said.  MSP Helicopter Trooper 3 will be transporting one seriously injured patient to Shock Trauma, in Baltimore. 

Police said the eastbound lanes of I-70, from route 40 to route 66 will be closed for an extended period of time.
