It happened in New Market.

Charges of manufacturing and possessing a destructive device, reckless endangerment and disorderly conduct have been filed against six juveniles who were arrested Tuesday night for setting off some explosive devices in New Market.

"Deputies responded to the Sponseller Court area to investigate complaints of someone discharging a firearm," said Captain Tim Clark, with the Frederick County Sheriff's Office.  "Instead they found several explosive devices in the area.  They were bottles mixed with chemicals."

"The deputies contacted the youths and they admitted their involvement," said Capt. Clark.  The Maryland State Fire Marshal's Office Bomb Squad was called to the scene after one device was found that had not detonated.  "It was made harmless," continued Capt. Clark.

There were no injuries and no property damage from these explosive devices.
