One person was wounded Friday morning in a shooting in the 300 block of Jonathan Street, Hagerstown Police said in a news release.

At 2:23 a.m., officers responded to the area of North and Jonathan streets after hearing multiple shots fired, the release said.

They found the shooting victim lying on the ground with a gunshot wound that was not life-threatening, according to the release.

The wounded person was transported to Meritus Medical Center.

Police said the motive of the shooting is unknown.
