Rte. 40 In Washington County Reopened

The roadway was closed Friday afternoon following a crash.

 

The Maryland State Police in Hagerstown says Rte. 40 near Greenbrier State Park in Washington County has reopened.  The roadway was shut down earlier on Friday afternoon  following an accident.

Officials at the Hagerstown Barrack say a two-car crash occurred at around 1:30 PM.  Occupants were transported to area hospitals by helicopter and ambulance, some with serious injuries. 

State Police  crash reconstructionists continue to investigate.
