Frederick Police have charged a man with possession of an alcoholic beverage in one of the city's parks. Steven Ray Stone, 53, no address or hometown given, was arrested on Friday at 3rd Street Park by two officers on foot patrol.

Authorities say Stone was observed in the park holding a brown paper bag.  Police say further investigation determined it was an alcoholic beverage.  Officers say stone admitted to possessing the booze, and also had a pint of Fleischmans Vodka with him.

He was arrested without incident.

Police remind residents that a municipal ordinance prohibits the possession and consumption of alcoholic beverages in city parks.
