She wants Frederick officials to ponder the idea of putting a casino in Frederick.

Maryland has three slots parlors up and running in the state and now one local lawmaker wants Frederick officials to ponder the idea of putting a casino in Frederick.

Frederick Mayor Randy McClement said Delegate Kathy Afzali recently asked city and county officials to consider the prospects of having a local slots venue.

McClement said he wants to take the idea to a public work shop first.

"From a business aspect, I think a casino would be good for the City but I do not know enough about how the allocation of funds comes from a casino". If a slots parlor is built, McClement would like the city's part of the revenue to come directly from the casino and not the state.

Maryland voters decided in 2008 to allow slot machines at 5 different locations in the state.
