Girl Injured In Bicycle Accident

She was flown to Children's Hospital.

 

A girl who was riding her bicycle was struck by a motor vehicle Friday afternoon in Hagerstown.

Police say the child was traveling the wrong way on Carrollton Avenue and failed to stop at the intersection at Mechanic Street.  Her bike struck the front of a passenger car.

The girl was medivaced to Children's Hospital by State Police Trooper 3 helicopter with what is believe to be a fractured leg and numerous cuts and scrapes.  But police say her injuries do not appear to be life threatening.

No charges have been filed in connection with this incident.

The investigation was conducted by Officer Tyler Helman of the Hagerstown Police Department.
