A new townhouse community is being proposed on 56 acres of land belonging to the VFW Golf Course, located on Old National Pike and Mount Phillip Road.  "The proposal was presented to us at our workshop on Monday," said Gabrielle Dunn, Division Manager, for Frederick City Planning Department.  "Suggestions were made about the incorporation of the green space into the community, pedestrian access, those sorts of things, even house orientation, in order to make the most of the environmental features out there, and to use that as an asset," continued Dunn. 

The rough plan is proposing to build 210 to 240 townhouses on the property. 

The Frederick Planning Department only received the sketch about a month ago, and Roger's Engineering Company will be doing the design work for the proposed property.
