Frederick Police are investigating a robbery that took place at the 7-11 store on East Fifth and North East Streets.
It happened Tuesday afternoon, shortly before 4:30 p.m., when a white man entered the establishment, approached the counter with two cans of iced tea, and as the clerk opened the cash register, authorities said he reached into the drawer and removed a sum of cash. Police say there was a brief struggle between the clerk and the robbery suspect, but there were no injuries.
Witnesses reported seeing the suspect fleeing the store and getting into a white Ford Escape. At the time of the incident he was wearing a baseball hat, dark sunglasses, a gray t-shirt, and light colored shorts.
