He was apprehended following a traffic stop.

A man from Quinlan, Texas was arrested in Frederick on Wednesday morning for driving on a suspended out of state license, and transporting a handgun in a vehicle.

Blake Matthew Barrett, 22, was pulled over by a police officer who was working RADAR on Monocacy Boulevard at Waterside Drive. The cop determined that Barrett was exceeding the posted speed limit.

Authorities say the officer did a check on Barrett's Oklahoma license, and learned that it was suspended. As Barrett was being taken into custody, he told the officer that he had a fully loaded, nine-millimeter semi-automatic handgun in the vehicle.

Barrett was transported to Central Booking for a bond hearing. The weapon was made safe, and taken into evidence.
