An investigation is underway into an incident Thursday morning in the Walkersville area.

Frederick County Sheriff's Deputies were dispatched to the 8300 block of Revelation Avenue for a burglary and assault in progress. Authorities say a man in the home woke up and saw an African-American male inside, armed with a long bladed knife. The occupant says the individual began assaulting people.

"He was able to escape out of the home, go to a neighbor and call 911," says Captain Tim Clarke with the Sheriff's Office.

"We tried to make contact with the individual within the home, but were unsuccessful," says Captain Clarke. "We believed that there may be some people injured and an assault may still be going on."

The Sheriff's Office Special Service Team or SWAT  was dispatched, and made entry into the home. They found the intruder and two females. Clarke says one of the females was injured, but didn't need any medical attention.

The suspect was taken to the Law Enforcement Center.  Clarke says no charges have been filed as of yet.
