The suspect is currently being held on $125,000 bond.

The Frederick County Sheriff's Office has charged the man who they say was armed with a long bladed knife and broke into a home on Revelation Avenue, in Discovery Thursday morning, and assaulted the occupants.

William Henry Sawyer, IV, is currently being held on $125,000 bond, at the Frederick County Adult Detention Center, for two counts each, of first and second degree assault, and reckless endangerment. He's also looking at a first degree burglary offense.

In a press release issued, it said that on Thursday, August 2, 2012, shortly after 10am Frederick County Sheriff’s Office Deputies and Maryland State Police Troopers were dispatched to the 8300 block of Revelation Avenue for a reported burglary in progress. Upon arrival, information was obtained from an adult male victim, who fled the home, that an unknown black male had entered the home and assaulted occupants with a long bladed knife and a machete. The male victim also reported that when he left the home a female occupant within the home was actively being assaulted by the suspect and appeared to be bleeding. It was reported that two adult female occupants had not come out of the home.

The release went on to say that negotiators made several attempts to contact anyone within the home with no success. Upon arrival of Frederick County Sheriff’s Office Special Services Team members, an immediate entry into the home was made to ensure the safety of the occupants and to search for the suspect. SST members located the two females and the suspect within the home. One female victim had minor injuries that did not require medical treatment. All those involved were taken to Law Enforcement Center for further investigation and interviews.

The follow-up resulted in detectives bringing charges against Mr. Sawyer.
