Both are supporting their party's respective candidates.
The Frederick County Democratic Central Committee has opened its headquarters at 5732 Buckeytown Pike in the Evergreen Shopping Center in Frederick.
The party says the facility will serve as a coordinated campaign office to support the candidacies of President Obama, Senator Ben Cardin, 8th District Congressman Chris Van Hollen and Democratic 6th District candidate John Delaney. The main focus will be phone banking, and anyone who wants to help out can drop by, or call Officer Manager Mary Costello at 301-606-4326. Volunteers will be staffing the front desk from 10:00 AM until 4:00 PM weekdays, and 10:00 AM until 1:00 PM on weekends.
The Maryland Republican Party has also opened an office. A Victory Center is up and running at 18,540 Office Park Drive in Montgomery Village.
The hours of operation are from 9:00 AM until 9:00 PM on weekdays, and 10:00 AM until 5:00 PM on Saturdays, where volunteers will make calls, and go out canvassing door-to-door. Call Office Manager Karl Snyder at 240-780-2395 for more information, or to help out.
The GOP says the goal is to support Congressman Roscoe Bartlett's re-election now that the 6th district encompasses parts of Montgomery County, along with other Republican candidates.
There will also be a grand opening party on Wednesday, October 22nd at the headquarters from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
