The Weinberg Center for the Arts announced its 2012-2013 season, offering a wide range of performances from some of the world's most exciting and established artists in the areas of music, comedy, dance, theater and film.  "The season kicks off with comedian Jim Breuer on Friday, September 21, 2012 and ends with the movie Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid on Wednesday, June 26, 2013," said Victoria Temiz, Manager of Marketing and Development.  "In October Maceo Parker, known as the Daddy of Funk will be coming.  He's a spectacular saxophone player.  He'll be here on October 6th.  Then we have The Four Bitchin' Babes on Sunday, October 21st.  It's a really funny act that they do," continued Temiz.

New in the line up this year is the Frederick Speaker Series, featuring well known leaders from around the country, including Dr. Andrew Weil, Gen. Colin Powell and Terry Gross.  "This series is sponsored by the Ausherman Family Foundation, the C.Burr Artz Trust and Hood College," said John Healy, Executive Director.

The Weinberg Center also offers the smARTS Series, developed in conjunction with Frederick County Public Schools, to offer special weekday educational performances for students.
