He takes home $250,000.
A Frederick County man has won a big cash prize from the Maryland Lottery. Haven Millberry of Ijamsville was in Baltimore on Thursday to pick $250,000 he won playing the "Ravens Cash Fantasy" game.
"I'm a big Ravens fan. I get tickets every now and again," he says.
Millberry purchased his winning ticket at the Urbana Seven-Eleven at 8900 Fingerboard Road. He says he scratched it off and found out he won a quarter of a million dollars. He turned in his winning ticket on Thursday at Lottery headquarters in Baltimore.
So what does he plan to do with that money? "First of all, I'm going to buy a new pickup truck, and maybe a boat, and the rest of it will go to my excavating business that I'm been trying to start up for a while," Millberry responds.
This is the fourth year for the "Ravens Cash Fantasy." Lottery officials say there's still time for Ravens fans or other Marylanders to win. "Players can enter their extra yards from the bottom of their tickets into the second chance contest," says Lottery spokeswoman Gail Pelovitz. She says some of the prizes include home game season tickets for life, a chance to travel with the Ravens during away games and $1-million in cash.
"The ticket was just launched the beginning of August," says Pelovitz. "We plan is to have this ticket around for the remainder of the football season. Lots of cool prizes still remaining, including those four top prizes of $250,000."
Millberry says he been a Ravens fan for a long time. "Everybody's a Ravens fan in my family. I got a couple Redskins fans. After they see what I won off of this, they'll go over to the Ravens," Millberry says with a laugh.
Millberry works as a heavy equipment operator and truck driver. He's a 34-year-old father of two.
